Education Qualification

• Assistant Environmental Engineer AEE:  Candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemical Technology, Civil Engineering, or Environmental Engineering from a university established by law in India or an equivalent qualification recognized by the Government. This also includes AMIE (Associate Member of the Institution of Engineers, India) in the branches of Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Environmental Engineering as a valid equivalent qualification.

• Assistant Scientific Officer ASO: Candidates should possess either a Doctorate (Ph.D.) in Chemistry, Zoology, Botany, or Biochemistry from a university established by law in India (or equivalent recognized qualification) along with a minimum of three years of experience in the field of Environment, Pollution Control, or Public Health. Alternatively, candidates may hold a Master's degree in Chemistry, Zoology, Botany, or Biochemistry from a recognized Indian university (including deemed universities or institutes established by Central or State Government) or equivalent qualification, accompanied by at least five years of relevant experience in Environment, Pollution Control, or Public Health.

📋 UPPCB AEE & ASO 2026: Examination Pattern and Selection Process

The examination will be conducted in two stages as follows:

A. Stage-I: Computer Based Test (CBT) – Objective Type (Total: 400 Marks)

(i) For the post of Assistant Environmental Engineer:

(ii) For the post of Assistant Scientific Officer:

The CBT will consist of objective-type questions with negative marking. 4 (four) marks will be awarded for each correct answer, and 1 (one) mark will be deducted for each wrong answer. Zero (0) marks for questions not attempted. The question paper will be available in English and Hindi. In case of any discrepancy in interpretation, the English version shall be considered final.

A merit list will be prepared based on the marks obtained in the Computer Based Test (CBT), and candidates from this merit list will be called for interview as per prescribed rules.

B. Second Stage: Interview carrying 70 (seventy) marks.

2. Selection: The final merit list will be prepared based on the aggregate marks obtained by the applicants out of 470 marks (CBT 400 marks + Interview 70 marks) as mentioned above, and selection will be made as per the provisions of the existing rules/regulations.

1. Visit the official website uppcb.org or uppbpb.gov.in.
2. Click on the “UPPCB AEE & ASO 2026 Admit Card” or “CEN/Recruitment 2026” link.
3. Log in using your Registration Number and Date of Birth / Password.
4. Download your Admit Card (available now).
5. Print the Admit Card and carry it to the examination center along with a valid photo ID proof.
